Rachel & Brendan’s Elegant Celebration at The Spot on West Fifth

Rachel & Brendan’s celebration was elegant and modern with a beautiful floral palette of blush, whites, and hints of greenery which softened and complimented the industrial vibe of Cincinnati’s The Spot on West Fifth. Rachel describes her wedding vision, “We wanted to create a space that was timeless and elegant, but set in a venue that was unique and more industrial/modern. We loved the idea of taking a space with so much potential and make it uniquely our own.”

Brittany Bays captured all the moments of Rachel & Brendan’s wedding day beautifully. We asked Rachel a few questions about the day and how her vision came together.

In the end, I wanted to remember the people and the big moments, so having a space to bring it altogether was important.

Why did you choose your venue and why did you love how it came together?

We chose The Spot on West Fifth because it had the industrial and modern vibe we were looking for and allowed us to take the space and make it our own. It also gave us a ton of flexibility on our budget. Honestly bringing in our own alcohol ended up saving us thousands of dollars. Plus we had a greater variety and alcohol tiers than most can rationalize paying for at other venues.

What details were most important?

Can I say all details? 🙂 in reality, I would say the layout and flow of the day. I cared about having our decor and color scheme come together and representing that timeless and elegant feel, but not making it stuffy for our guests. In the end, I wanted to remember the people and the big moments, so having a space to bring it altogether was important.

Take us back through your wedding day!

We spent the morning getting ready in our bridal suites at the Renaissance hotel downtown with our bridal party and families. Our wedding ceremony was in the early afternoon at St. Francis Xavier church downtown. We did pictures with the bridal party before the reception at P&G gardens and Piatt Park which turned out beautiful. We headed to the Spot for the end of our cocktail hour and reception. We did a fun intro for the bridal party, did our first dances and speeches and then the most important part….the dance floor with our favorite people. We even made sure to represent our favorite alma mater and the place we met….University of Dayton, with a UD flag photo. The day flew by but it was a blast!
