Maggie & Chris’s Inspired, Natural Fall Wedding

Maggie & Chris married on a beautiful autumn day surrounded by touches of rust, olive, taupe, yellow, burgundy, and more striking autumnal hues. Their floral style full of fall bounty with an inspired natural feel was accented with rich details and layered textures that highlighted the beauty of Cincinnati’s Coldstream Country Club. Leslee Mitchell captured all the moments of Maggie & Chris’s wedding day beautifully. We asked Maggie a few questions about the day and how her vision came together.

“I wanted the flowers to be the showstopper and I think it worked out beyond what I ever could have imagined.”

Describe your wedding vision.

I knew going into planning that I wanted a neutral and natural base color to work everything else around. I wanted the flowers to be the showstopper and I think it worked out beyond what I ever could have imagined. I also wanted to make sure we had some personality pieces throughout the night that not only looked good, but played off of our personalities. So on each table there were stacks of vintage books since I am such an avid reader and for Chris, we made sure there was a cigar bar where guests could escape the craziness of the night for a bit.

What details were most important to you?

I think for me, I really wanted to make sure the artistry was incorporated throughout certain aspects. For example, we had Kristen’s original floral planning drawings on the programs and seating chart which I absolutely loved. I also was really insistent on creating a more rustic feel – so there were a lot of natural wood pieces that could be softened with flowers and fabrics.

Overall, I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. My mom, our planner (Kelly), and Kristen were unbelievable and it really wouldn’t have come together how it did without them. Kristen was an integral part of the process and went above and beyond what I could have imagined. The whole design process wouldn’t have happened without her input and advice. I really didn’t have a huge hand in the planning so I was just as surprised as all the guests when it came to fruition!
