Amber and Drew were married in a glamorous, intimate wedding celebration at The Phoenix in downtown Cincinnati. Built in 1893 and restored to its original splendor as a gem of Italian Renaissance architecture in the 1980’s, the gorgeous details, which you can see in these gorgeous photographs, make it the perfect venue in which to say “I do!” The grand white marble staircase (one of the finest in North America!), ornate detailing, and Tiffany glass make it one of the most beautiful and historically rich buildings in our city.
We used a mix of seasonal flowers in the bouquets and table florals. Rich burgundy dahlias, white roses and hydrangea, and the dramatic hanging red amaranthus mixed with dark greens and silvery eucalyptus. The Carrs Photography captured the day beautifully!
The Details
Amber was absolutely stunning in her Ines de Santo wedding gown. Ines de Santo is known for her “structured silhouettes with light-as-air details, see-through laces, and signature translucent tulle layers.” Amber’s gown was layers of airy chiffon and intricate beadwork finished with a long chiffon train and architectural sleeves. Amber wore a detailed crystal and gold tiara whose pattern was like an Art Deco sunrise.
The strong lines of Amber’s dress were the starting point for the lush, overflowing florals. Neutral creams and layers of white with dark burgundy, black, gold, and accents of taupe brought everything together and worked beautifully with the Tiffany glass and historic pieces in The Phoenix.
A Little About Amber & Drew
How did you and Drew meet?
We met online in July of 2017. Yes, online dating works! After many trivia nights, weekend getaways, 5K races, lots of late-night snuggles with the cats, and tons of Indian food & oysters, it was obvious that we were perfect for each other.
Tell us a little about you and Drew.
I am a social, energetic extrovert. Drew is a calm, laid-back introvert. Together, we’re like wine and cheese, chocolate and peanut butter, waffles and whipped cream. Both delicious on our own, but way better together. Now we can’t imagine our lives without each other, and we are excited to start our next adventure together.
Amber envisioned a large wooden asymmetrical ceremony piece that would incorporate florals. We love the unique finished piece which combines to convey Amber’s vision of classy meets royalty! The piece fit seamlessly with the artful, intricate details of the day.
The Reception
Black linens covered the tables, brushed gold vessels held lush arrangements, flecked votives gave off warm candle light, and gold beaded chargers set each table. A web of strung cafe lights transformed the reception area into a dreamy hall where no detail went unnoticed! We created a mix of tall and low centerpieces which were complimented the luxe black and gold foil table numbers.
The Bonbonerie created an Art Deco inspired burgundy tiered wedding cake with geometrical details and each guest left with a custom potted succulent to remember the celebration.
All the best to Amber & Drew!
